El Bocho PINK...

This year we are celebrating our 10th exhibition of El Bocho's art works and there are exciting news about the event. We are surprised by an engergetic interpretation of the colour of PINK in neon shades, new painterly inventions and motives . This leads to a stunning illusion of three dimensionality, known to us since the Greek competition between Zeuxis and Parrhasius and since than regularly reintroduced at the higth of painterly knowledge of an epoch. In the art of modern masters Helen Frankenthaler comes to my mind. El Bocho likes to demonstrate to the viewer, that they can observe more in a painting than the brain can handle initially. He adds further unrest to the eye by painting trompe l'oeil in one part of the work while typifying other parts. A flower can thus seduce you to touch it, while the vase containing the flower is typisized and thus easily recognized by the brain, starting your brain into action. At the same time the viewer can admire the souvereign handling of the art of contemporary painting. With subject matters from daily life, portraits, stil lifes, cityscapes. In Berlin and weherever he travels to his cat hating Little Lucy are accompanying his way in many a shade that even cat lovers find entertaining.

For more than twentyfive years El Bocho's activities have centered around creating beauty in the city, while his followers have fondly observed and accompanied his putting up large aesthetical artworks in the city of Berlin in the cover of the night. Once the day arrives, the viewers can admire El Bocho's strong view of pink. It reminds you of Edith Piaf's smoky voice singing the song "la Vie en Rose", thus expressing the mystery of the colour, by making you feel being embraced and loved. Even better: it is a state to be achieved by beauty.

To mix the colour pink all you need to do is add white to red. lt is a small step to the artist to pass from signal red to neon pink, which you will be able to admire in our exhibition, with new images, a brand new wall painting and a masterful painterly style that will surprise you, as it is a delight to the eye. While so far portraits have been El Bocho’s main focus upon the three classical elements of painting , portrait, landscape and still life, he now adds new themes to his work using all his painterly skill. Whenever there is change in an artist’s work, the viewer is especially curious. Certainly we know and apreciate former works. But we know as well, that art is created for showing new thoughts and aspects of life. Different to everyday life this aspect is without any conflict, that’s why we like to be curious about new art works. This is a suggestion that you could explore while visiting the exhibition.
